WordPress Plugins That Make SEO Easy
I am a niche junkie and use blogs to build niche web sites on a regular basis. Whenever I build a new WordPress blog I am sure to install specific WordPress plugins that make SEO (search engine optimization) easy. Search engines tend to favor blogs because they are constantly updated with new content which gives the bots something new to crawl. You can make search engines take notice of your blogs with the following plugins that I use each time I create a new blog.
All In One SEO Pack – Installing this plugin has made SEO so much easier. You can create separate search engine optimized titles for your posts as well as meta tag keywords and descriptions.
Sitemap Generator – Having a sitemap portrays your blog as a legitimate site. A sitemap not only makes it easier for your readers to find information but the search engines seem to like it as well.
Google XML Sitemap – This plugin is essential for ranking well in Google. If you use Google’s Webmasters tools then you know that submitting an XML sitemap makes it easier for Google to search your site. This plugin puts updating the sitemap on autopilot.
Photo Dropper – If you like adding photos to your posts, this plugin makes it super easy because it searches for photos on Flickr which fall under the creative commons license. You simply search for a photo related to your topic and it will place the photo directly in your post with credit text and a link back to Flickr.
Those are the main plugins that I am sure to install with any WordPress blog that I create. I find that my blogs are even indexed faster. I’m not sure if it’s due to the plugins but I’m sure they don’t hurt. You can find all of the plugins mentioned above by searching for them in any of the main search engines or by searching the various WordPress plugin directories.

ShareFaces – Facebook Share WordPress Plugin Review
There are tons of Facebook WordPress plugins out there but none of them is as handy as this new plugin I’ve just downloaded. It’s called ShareFaces, and it is probably one of the coolest plugins I’ve ever seen in years.
It is pretty much a Facebook share button, but what’s really cool about it is the way that it works. The plugin let you show the Facebook users who have shared the articles on your website in this nice footer bar called the FacesBar. Your website readers will then be able to check out those people by clicking their images in the FacesBar. It is such a cool and funky way to let your web visitors to share article on their Facebook Walls.
Installation of the plugin is very simple. I know that you might think that you will need some custom made Facebook App for this, but not at all! It’s pretty basic, you download, upload the plugin through the WordPress admin panel and install it. There is no mind-boggling or weird installation steps, it’s pretty straightforward. Most settings are optional, you don’t really need to change any of them. The Facebook share button is customizable, you can even upload your own button if you want to.
My Facebook friends are loving it. They’ve been sharing articles as if they want to promote their faces on that FacesBar. Some of them appeared in way to many articles but whatever it is; it is a win-win situation for me as the blog owner and those who will keep on sharing. All with the help of the amazing Facebook plugin; ShareFaces.
You can learn more about ShareFaces by going to the developers website and discover more Premium WordPress Plugins. ShareFaces is available as a members area download. It supports Open Source Development technology however it is not being distributed for free.

Three WordPress Plugins You Don’t See on Every List
Everyone always tells you about the WordPress plugins you HAVE TO HAVE. I have found many lists dedicated to WordPress plugins. A lot of top five and top ten lists. Almost every time I find one of these lists, the same plugins are mentioned over and over again. WordPress has thousands (millions?) of plugins available. Why pay attention to so few? Here is my list of three plugins that might not get the glory – but they do their jobs!
1. MicroKid’s Related Posts – This is a simple and effective related posts plugin. It simply adds a box under your Visual Editor. You can search this box for keywords and then it will bring up a list of your past posts that match those keywords. You can then click those to add links to them at the bottom of your current post. You ever read a blog post and at the end you see “If you liked that, you will like this…” and it links to other posts? This plugin does that better than any other one I have seen, and it lets you choose what posts to use. This plugin can really help to get people to stick around your site and increase your page views.
2. Cute Profiles - People love finding new ways to get their social profile buttons on their blog. They jam the header with blue twitter birds and facebook logos. They might even use the sidebar to have a long list including everything from Digg to Friendster. I didn’t want to use any of that prime real estate and this plugin was my solution. It simply generates a vertical row of social profile buttons on either the left or right hand side of your website. The row floats in the same area, even if people scroll down or up – so it is always visible. Best part is – it only takes up website space you weren’t using anyways. It is also CSS coded – no javascript used.
3. AdSense Under Image – I know AdSense doesn’t like you putting pictures that try and get people to click their ads. This plugin could definitely be misused. I use it properly though and have had no issues with AdSense. With this simple plugin I don’t have to worry about placing my AdSense code. I just enter the code into the backend of the plugin and then every time I post a picture – my AdSense will be under it. To avoid getting in trouble for too many AdSense blocks – it only uses the first picture in a post. I have noticed a slight increase in my CTR since I began using this. I find it best to pair up a horizontal link only ad with this method.
Those are three plugins I can not personally live without. I use them all the time and on all my sites. I don’t think they get as much love as other plugins like All-in-One SEO, Google XML Sitemaps or etc… But you have seen lists with those all the time. Hopefully this list will encourage you to check out some of those less talked about plugins. There are a ton out there – why not try a couple?

WordPress Plugins That Can Make Your Website Better
If you want to make your website better these plugins can help. Plugins allow you to add features and functions to your blog without having to learn programming language. You might notice a common theme with these plugins. All of these use WP or WordPress in their WordPress plugin names.
WordPress Database Backup
No one plans for their site to crash, but sometimes it happens. With this blog plugin you can schedule regular backups of your website to be sent automatically to your email. You do not have to worry about remembering or being on vacation.
WordPress Firewall
Similar to the firewall you may have installed on your computer, this blocks suspicious parameters. This means that if it detects something suspicious happening to your WordPress website it blocks it. It also logs the interaction for you to check over later. You can also whitelist your own IPS address and your other blog writers further limiting access.
WP Optimize
You probably have noticed every time you make a change to your posts, WordPress saves a revision. After a while all those revisions grow into mountains. You also have extra information saved on various code sheets that make up your site with installing and uninstalling plugins and themes. Optimize your site with this WordPress plugin.
WordPress Mobile Edition
More and more people are checking websites on their phone. But phone browsers may not be able to read your theme. When this WordPress blog plugin detects a phone it uses a mobile friendly theme instead of your normal one. Now your readers can continue to have access to your site wherever they roam.
WordPress Stats
Many statistics plugins take setting up and then require a learning curve to understand. With WordPress Stats you visit the plugin on your dashboard. The line graph show number of visitors. The tables below show you what pages people visited, what brought them to your site and reminds you of your busiest day.
WordPress Thread Comment
Social media has gained in popularity because people like to interact. The standard WordPress comment system allows comments to flow in time order which makes it hard for people to understand when one comment is responding to another. Not with this plugin, your readers and you can comment directly. The response will be with the original comment to flow evenly and logically.
WP Super Cache
While you are getting the site working better this will come in handy as well. Most of your visitors will see a saved static file version of your site. This allows your website to run faster and will help should your site suddenly have heavy traffic.

Guaranteed SEO Benefits With WordPress Plugins
There are many ways to gain guaranteed SEO benefits for your website if you are using the WordPress CMS, some more effective than others. Most of your benefits will be with off site SEO but there can be some on site SEO advantages.
People reading this article may or may not be aware that the majority of your SEO benefits will come from off site SEO, back linking is a huge one, especially if you are anchoring your back links with the correct text. Here I will not go into this aspect of SEO however, this article is more concerned with how you can improve on site SEO via WordPress plugins.
As you are probably already aware there are thousands upon thousands of WP plugins that all claim to benefit you in some way, not all are made equally however and sorting through all the garbage to actually find something of real use is extremely hard work, especially if you are new to WordPress and all the plugins that are available.
I cannot claim to be an expert on every single plugin available, the number to be tested is just too many and would take a lifetime to test individually but the following list shows a few of the plugins that I find are most useful for my personal needs and do give me guaranteed SEO advantages of one description or another.
Your list may vary depending on the reason why you are building a WP site but I think most people will find the list to be of use for the basics plus a few added extra bonuses.
While some of these plugins are not directly related to SEO they may help you to avoid disasters that will ruin your sites credibility with both search engines and visitors alike so do not be fooled by the simplicity of what some of them do.
While on site and off site SEO are very, very important the integrity of your site as a whole does come into play. If your site goes down or is slow or littered with links that go nowhere these problems will all add up to a bad site that both man and machine will dislike and avoid.
One more point that you should bear in mind when installing plugins:
Do not over do it! I bring up page speed further into this article, one of the things that will slow your site down is a lot of plugins. Certain plugins are non optional, a sitemap and a database backup are for example 2 things that you absolutely need but if others are going to be of little use to you, forget them! Use your head in regard to what you need for the function of your site.
Never install a plugin just for the sake of it, only use them to improve functionality!
WordPress plugins with guaranteed SEO benefits
The first thing that any site needs is a sitemap, you don’t need to be a coding expert and create your own thankfully with ‘Google XML sitemaps’. There are other sitemap plugins out there but this is one of the most trusted out there and something that no WordPress site should be without.
‘Yoast breadcrumbs’ is a great breadcrumb plugin that will leave a trail for your readers to be able to find their way around with greater ease. If set up correctly it will also help with internal SEO as it makes the text bold for the current page in the breadcrumb trail and also allows to set your own anchor text for both the homepage and blog page.
The ‘official Statcounter plugin’ is another great piece of kit for your website, while it does not offer any immediate guaranteed SEO benefits the information that can be garnered from Statcounter.com is invaluable in your future SEO decisions.
Where are your visitors coming from?
Where do your visitors go from your site?
What keywords are attracting visitors?
With this information and more you can start to make future plans, see what is working and see what is a wasting your time.
It is well documented that Google now takes into account the speed that your website loads, feeding cached versions of your sites web pages is a no brainer when you take also consider that visitors may also click away if your page takes too long to load. Help to improve page speed by using the ‘W3 total cache’ plugin. If you also have a lot of things going on in your sidebars you may also consider ‘WP widget cache’.
Something that every WordPress site needs is a backup system of some kind. I recommend ‘WordPress Database Backup’. Depending on how active your site is you can set the plugin to Email you a complete backup of your site anywhere from every 900 seconds to bi monthly. Guaranteed SEO benefits? Well… How good is it for your SEO if your site crashes and you have to start from scratch?
Ever had your content stolen from your site via your RSS feed? Then you will like the next plugin. It’s called ‘RSS footer’, a simple yet effective plugin that shows a link on the post that they stole which leads right back to your site, if anybody scrapes your feed content the guaranteed SEO benefit is that you get free keyword optimized back links and maybe a few visitors from the thieving gits site.:-D Bonus!
‘Broken link checker’ Ever been in a rush and put a link into a post or page that is not correct only to find out days or weeks later? (Do you have some that you didn’t find at all come to think of it!?) This plugin will monitor your site and report any links that are not working so you can correct them immediately.
Google hates broken links and your visitors won’t like them too much either, neither should you if you want your site to do what you want it to do and direct visitors where you want them to go.
How often do you finish off a page or post and notice mistakes? You go back and correct them and then you make a couple of improvements and tweaks to the page, hitting the update button every few minutes to put it right… Bad!!
Every time you post or update one of your pages WordPress automatically pings the Pingomatic site, if you are repeatedly pinging all the time your blog can get banned from the update sites for ping spam. Cure this with ‘cbnet Ping Optimizer’ which will only allow pinging when you actually publish for the first time. Pinging on an update will be disabled hence protecting you from being labelled as a ping spammer.
Best of luck with your WordPress site, I hope this information was of use to you.
How to Pick WordPress Plugins That Fit Your Blog Needs
If you have a hosted WordPress website you can add plugins. These little programs can change the features of your blog and make it fit your unique needs. But deciding which plugin to use can be a challenge with so many available.
Why is the decision so hard?
The number of plugins available is ever growing on the WordPress directory. In just the past 3 months over 1000 plugins were added. So it is virtually impossible for someone to test all the different plugins and combine them with different themes and in various combinations.
What about support services?
Most WordPress plugins are free. The developer(s) of a plugin may have a full time job, may have stopped updating it, or whatever, but they may or may not provide support. Even when they do provide support remember the plugin is free. They are not making any money except through the occasional donation.
How do I install a WordPress plugin?
Most plugins can be easily installed from the dashboard, your WordPress back office. Scroll down to plugins and click the arrow, beneath in the new menu click “Add new.” Search for the name of the plugin or the feature you need. Now you will have a list but it is important to make certain the plugin meets certain criteria.
What is the rating?
Look at the stars. Most of the plugins have some sort of ranking. While you do not know how many people voted for that 5 stars, chances are it is worth more research than the one with one star.
Does the description meet your needs?
Just because a plugin matches your term does not mean that it actually matches your needs. People have different needs. A plugin for photos could turn your site into a gallery, allow you to edit your photos in WordPress, work with one photo program but not another or it may work with both. So you want to be certain the plugin fits your needs.
Do I install it now?
If you still like the program click Install. Now you get more information and more criteria.
How long ago was the last plugin updated?
Over 365 days ago is over a year ago. 10 days means it is fairly current.
Is it compatible with your WordPress Version?
Do not worry if it has not been tested.
How many people rated it?
You knew from the previous screen how many stars, but now you can find out how many people rated it. 290 people rating a plugin 4 stars is far more impressive than one person rating it 5 stars.
How many downloads are there?
Like the rating, more downloads gives it a better chance of being a workable plugin.
Will the plugin work?
Most plugins will not cause too much trouble, you can back up your blog for precaution. If the plugin is still to your liking then you can install it. Activate and see how it works. Again because there are so many themes and you could use it with a combination of plugins, that does not mean it will work in your case. Plugins are free so they are worth trying!
